Shibori Happy Hour: Itajime

Shibori Happy Hour: Itajime

50.00

Join the makers at Enamel for the ins and outs of Itajime, a Japanese tie dye technique that involves using shapes to resist. Using natural indigo dye, you will learn folding and binding techniques to create modern, one of a kind garments and home goods. Everything you need to get started is included! Everyone receives a take away to dye, and several test pieces to practice with. By the time you leave, you will have solid shibori skills, and you can totally do this at home. Drinks on hand...get your dye on!

Everything is provided, but feel free to bring one or two small items to dye if you like. These should be natural, plant based fibers, like cotton, rayon, viscose, or linen.

Workshop cost is $50 and covers all materials.

Registration closes 48 hours before class. Last minute reservation? Send us a note and we can see if we can fit you in!

Please select a date and ticket from the menu below. There's no difference in the kinds of tickets; this set up simply lets you reserve multiple spots in a class or buy tickets for your friends! :) Class starts at 7 and ends around 9.

What our students are saying about Shibori Happy Hour:

"I loved this class! I think the best part was that you can't make a mistake. Any way you wrap, bind, fold your fabric still produces an awesome result. The instructor Angela was fabulous. Super friendly and helpful, clearly explained the technique. I left with three swatches of dyed cotton fabric and one dyed silk scarf. Plus there were cocktails! Super fun class."
